Elda travels back in time to the Middle Ages

On the weekend of 15th and 16th March, Elda is celebrating the 9th edition of its Medieval Commerce Fair, an initiative sponsored by the Town Council and organised by the Local Agency for the Promotion of Commercial Innovation (AFIC).

Coinciding with Palm Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the historic quarter of Elda will be turned into a Medieval market, with crafts stalls decorated with Medieval insignias and even workshops offering demonstrations of traditional trades.

The market will also be populated with a host of Medieval characters, who will tell their stories and mingle with visitors, breathing life into the event. There will also be archery demonstrations, falconry and puppet shows.

As well as the market attractions themselves, the Elda Medieval Commerce Fair will also offer visitors live music and circus shows, along with over fifty crafts stalls and workshop demonstrations, such as wood lathing, earthenware, candles, armoury, and a whole host of exotic products brought to Elda from the furthest reaches of the world.
