From Benissa to the Sierra de Bérnia

05-01-2009

The Costa Blanca is home to some truly idyllic spots, such as Benissa, a municipality flanked by the Sierra de Bérnia mountains, a majestic natural wall that separates the areas of Marina Alta and La Baixa in the province of Alicante. Don't miss out; take a trip down to Benissa between 9th and 31st January and you can also enjoy lots of fun activities taking place as part of the Fira i Porrat de Sant Antoni celebrations.

Enjoy some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the Region of Valencia, the Sierra de Bérnia mountains. Delight in the crystal clear waters of the Font de Bèrnia, which remains at a fairly constant level all year round. Feel as if you were part of its luxuriant vegetation and marvel at curiosities such as the Forat, a natural hollow measuring around 20 metres carved into the rock.

And having enjoyed a few moments of peace and quiet... make your way back to Benissa and take part in the lively programme of activities organised to celebrate the Porrat de Sant Antoni festivities. Next weekend, you can also enjoy an exhibition of engravings by Manuel Porcel Molero, entitled Integración de líneas (Integration of lines), at La Marina University Campus, or sign up for a cultural tour that will take you from Benissa to the Sierra Mariola mountains. And throughout the whole of January, don't miss out on a whole host of culinary tastings, poetry workshops and everything on offer in this privileged spot on the Costa Blanca.
