Moors and Christians under the shadow of the Peñón de Ifach

From October 17th, Calpe will be immersed in its Moors and Christians celebrations held in honour of Holy Christ. The three most eagerly anticipated events among locals and visitors alike will be taking place over one week: the entry of the Moors and Christians, the Landing and the Miracle. 

The Great Procession of Moors and Christian gets underway on Saturday at 7 p.m., an act that combines eye-catching costumes with dancing and music. The following day, The Landing will be recreated on the beach at Arenal Bol, representing one of the many attacks suffered at the hands of Muslim pirates. On Tuesday, witness the Parliament, an act that reproduces the debate held publically between representatives of both sides. Come to Calpe and enjoy these lively festivities.
