The Volvo Ocean Race Village opens its doors in Alicante

Alicante is getting ready to give the Volvo Ocean Race the welcome it deserves. The Village, a huge space covering over 40,000 square metres, will be offering visitors all kinds of entertainment and events up until 11th October, the date the race gets underway. This unique enclosure will be the venue for over 40 activities a day, including music, attractions, sports events and much more, fun for all the family.

The activities organised for children include Alicante Junior Adventure, a school programme to teach children the basics about sailing and sport.

Another attraction that will appeal to everyone is the Nao Victoria, a replica of the boat on which Juan Sebastián Elcano made the very first round-the-world voyage.

The main attraction will undoubtedly be the concerts by Brian Adams and UB40, performing at the Village on 4th and 10th October, respectively.
