The Ocean Race 2027 will mark the 15th edition of the event, setting off from its headquarters and official start port in Alicante on 17 January 2027. With more than 50 years of history behind it, this legendary round-the-world regatta will bring together some of the world’s finest sailors aboard cutting-edge racing yachts.

The adventure will begin in Alicante’s waters with a historic first, as the opening leg to Auckland in New Zealand will be the longest ever recorded in the competition, covering 14,000 nautical miles.

Alongside the sporting and technological challenge, the event also stands out for its strong environmental commitment through the Racing for the Ocean programme. The participating boats will carry out scientific research on the open sea and help raise awareness of the need to protect marine ecosystems. Head down to the port of Alicante to feel the excitement of the start up close and support a race that is sailing towards a more sustainable future for the planet.
