The IVAM-CADA-ALCOI is a multidisciplinary centre focused on fine arts and contemporary culture and is managed by a partnership agreement between three major organisations: Institut Valencià d’Art Modern-IVAM run by the Valencia Regional Government, the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation and the Department of Culture at Alcoy City Council. The IVAM has a dual purpose, firstly to host top level art exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, in a range of creative formats, genres and types; and secondly to serve as a focal point for the creation and promotion of local culture in Alcoy, with the emphasis on the contemporary. The centre consists of three floors dedicated to art and culture and aims to be a leader in innovation, a cultural, tourism and economic magnet for the Region of Valencia, as well as a museum space with a national reputation.
