Every May, Casa de Andalucía in Calp organises a festival that speaks of tradition and devotion. A great time to plan a getaway.

Calp is a great choice of destination all year round, but visit in early May and you can witness an event that will enhance your getaway. Sitting on the Alicante coastline, Calp is home to Casa de Andalucía, an association celebrating Andalusian traditions and customs. Cruz de Mayo is the perfect example of this. During the festivities, the association sets up a beautiful cross decorated with flowers and hosts a number of other events.

Held in Calp since the year 1996, the festival features a parade in which the participants make their way towards a performance of traditional Andalusian dancing. Following this, the cross is given as an offering to Nuestra Señora de las Nieves parish church. The event combines religious devotion and traditions and is the perfect addition to a beautiful spring getaway in Calp. Come and experience the festival for yourself – as well as others held in the town such as Moors and Christians – and find yourself falling in love with the town sitting in the shadow of Peñón de Ifach.
