Fiesta de los jóvenes en honor a San Gregorio - El Castell de Guadalest
Perched on the top of craggy rocks, El Castell de Guadalest is one of the most beautiful villages you will see in the province of Alicante. An incredible destination for a getaway, here you can spend hours nosing around weird and wonderful museums – such as Museo de Microminiaturas – exploring the spectacular scenery of Guadalest reservoir following an easy trail or climbing up to the highest point to breathe in the views. All the ingredients for an unforgettable escape.
If you plan your trip for May, you can also enjoy Fiesta de los jóvenes in honour of San Gregorio, a festival that will jolt you awake with the sound of fireworks and ringing bells so you can get up and help make a tasty paella as traditional bands play in the background.
There will be plenty of time for religious devotion at the mass, procession and traditional blessing of the water. In the evening, there’s a community dinner followed by a disco where you can dance into the early hours. Make sure you don’t miss this fantastic festival in a place of extraordinary beauty.
