This day’s main act is the Palmas (palms) Procession, which reaches great participation of people attending the procession carrying white palms from palm tree gardens in Elche. The spectacular elaborated palms have culminated in a palm contest where the palms are transformed into impressive creative monuments. On 1997 this Festivity was declared of International Tourist Interest .The celebration’s first news dates in 1371 and palm commerce is dated in books since 1429.
