Presiding over the square called Plaza la Iglesia is the sculpture that the Fester family erected in honour of their patron saint, the Virgen de los Desamparados (Virgin Mary). This sculpture was made by the sculptor from Bañeres who settled in Ibi, D. Vicente Ferrero Molina. The monument represents the Mare de Deu dels Desamparats (Mother of God), the patron saint of Ibi, in which the children or innocents have been substituted, and increased in size, by a Moor and a Christian. As a background it has a striking illuminated fountain. Its inauguration, together with that of the whole remodelling of the square, took place on 29th August 1982.
