Murla celebrates the feast of San Sebastian with a pilgrimage to its chapel, which takes place the Saturday closest to the 20 January, which is the day set by the Catholic Church for the feast of San Sebastian. We have lost the traditional procession on horse, but the ascent to the chapel, on foot along the old path of chivalry or by car through the modern road, still has great influx of residents and visitors. It is an intimate journey with songs of 'dolçaina and tabalet' (traditional music instruments) on the esplanade of the shrine. After the Mass and picnic, the descent of the holy saint is carried in procession at dusk, through the streets of the town. A dinner and dance gives an end to the festival.
