The Department of Promotion of Valencian has organized for June 30 the activity Danses i Versos per a no woke-se enjuliolats on Paseo de la Constitución from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The proposal recalls the custom that was had of dancing the dances on the last day of June so as not to wake up-se enjuliolats or as they pronounced “enjoriolats”. July is a month that withers everything that grows due to heat and dryness, in a clear reference to people it means that if you spend July you end up withered, dry, without vitality. Like a spell, they performed dances that are nothing more than the last acts of the cycle that celebrate the solstice.

Furthermore, taking advantage of the event and as part of the events celebrating the centenary of Vicent Andrés Estellés, we propose a collective reading of his verses and ending with a cabasset dinner to round off an afternoon that celebrates life through dance, music and verses.
