The fiestas of El Ravalet are dedicated to the Virgen de Montserrat and come before the Mutxamel Moors and Christians. On 6th September, things get underway with a huge firework display at the Montserrat Hermitage. On the morning of 8th september, there is a floral tribute at the hermitage, after which visitors can wander the narrow streets and enjoy the sight of the colourful flags on show, as part of the decorations and in the “plaza moruna”, participate in the centuriesold Dansà (typical dance) and listen to the traditional traca, a fire-cracker display, as it unravels over 100 metres. As darkness sets in, the faithful accompany the figure of the Virgen de Montserrat during the procession, which takes her around the traditional streets of El Ravalet, Peñacerrada and Poble Nou, until she is returned to the beautiful Hermitage, located in Paseo de la Alameda and then in Plaza del Ravalet, the entertainment continues with music and dancing.
