On the 10th is commemorated the “Venida de la Virgen de Loreto” to Santa Pola, with a small procession from the port to her “Capilla”. According to legend, in 1643, a fishing boat destined for another port sought refuge from a strong storm in Santa Pola, in the boat was travelling as a passenger an effigy of the “Virgen de Loreto”. When the storm died down, the boat set sail, but had to return to port twice before being able to leave, the crew and the authorities understood that the Virgen de Loreto wanted to stay in Santa Pola. This Virgin is also holder to the odyssey lived through the Spanish Guerra Civil (Civil War).
