The evening of the 5 January is commonly believed to be the most magical night of the year. And nowhere is this more true than Alcoy, a town that puts on an extraordinary Three Kings' Parade.

On the 5 January, Alcoy’s streets are filled with magic. Cabalgata de Reyes Magos, the Three Kings’ Parade, is an Event of National Tourist Interest and one of the most historic parades in Spain, and probably the world.

Over 1,000 people take part in this incredible display of tradition. You will see royal pages, torch bearers, servants and escorts of the Three Wise Men – Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar – who are the stars of the night. The torch light, paired with the sound of the bands and the dulzaina, will get your spine tingling.

The most highly anticipated moment of the event, for the children at least, is when the pages scale long ladders up to the locals’ balconies to hand out presents. The Three Kings then reach Plaza de España where they adore Baby Jesus, an event accompanied by spectacular fireworks and classical music. Whatever you do, don't miss Alcoy's incredible festivities.
