The Túria River Natural Park is the great lung of the city of València. Its proximity to the city makes it an ideal place to practice sports in the middle of nature without the need to travel far. One of the activities that can be done practically all the year round is a Kayak descent, a sport for all levels and physical conditions since different routes are available.
The Túria River Park extends along the banks between Pedralba and the city of València, passing through the municipalities of Quart de Poblet, Manises, Paterna, Riba-Roja del Túria, L'Eliana, Benaguasil, Llíria, Vilamarxant, and Pedralba. In total, it covers an area of 4,692 hectares and 35 kilometres in length.
Kayaking the riverbed offers the opportunity to discover the river and its surroundings from another perspective, playing sports and enjoying nature. Different routes have been arranged so that everyone can have fun. The shortest is 5 km long, it starts at Vilamarxant and reaches Riba-Roja. The next one is a little longer, 8 km, from Vilamarxant to Masía de Traver, and finally, the longest route, 12 km, which also starts in Vilamarxant and ends in Els Pous.
These descents can be carried out as a family, with children from 6 years old up to 11 years old, accompanied by an adult, during 9 of the 12 months of the year, according to the flow of the river that depends on the Túria River Basin and the Tribunal de las Aguas de València.
It is, without doubt, an activity to discover the surroundings close to València and enjoy a day in nature, having fun and practising sports.
