Immerse Yourself in Cova Tallada, Xàbia
Located in the Natural Reserve of Cabo San Antonio, north of the town of Xàbia, Cova Tallada has become one of the essential points of interest in the area. Discover it!
It is one of the most impressive caves in the Region of Valencia. But it is not the exclusive fruit of nature. The cave was excavated in the Muslim era to extract rough stone and sand for the construction of buildings, such as the castle of Dénia itself or the Church of San Bartolomé de Xàbia.
By entering the cave, you can still see the remains of cuts in the stone. But that is not the only surprise — more than one hundred meters of a route where some passages and pools collect water from the mountains.
Its particular location makes it accessible from several interesting points. From Denia, you can access after a short hiking route of about 750 meters that runs parallel to a cliff. But you can also arrive from Xàbia, starting the tour in "Les Planes." This option is somewhat longer, about two hours. But it is worth it for its views and the final reward: a refreshing swim inside Cova Tallada.
It is also accessible directly from the sea. You can enter with a jet ski, kayak, or even paddle surfing since it is at sea level.
Once inside, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes such as booties or crabs and a flashlight since its interior has no lighting.
It is undoubtedly one of the most recommended excursions to take in the Region of Valencia in summer.
