On the second Friday of the celebrations, one of the most anticipated events, the Paella's Day, takes place. This event has a unique convening power within the festivities in honour of San Antonio Abad and Santa Águeda. This day, with over 28 years of tradition, turns Benicàssim into a culinary benchmark of the typical Valencian dish, paella. The main streets of the town are filled with residents, tourists and visitors that cook and taste their own paellas. In previous editions, they exceeded 800. In 2007, due to the uniqueness of the event, which combines tradition, gastronomy, celebration and popular participation, it was declared a Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest.
