The San Andrés Fair is celebrated during the last weekend in November and dates back to 1507, when Queen Germana of Foix granted the Town of Cabanes the privilege of celebrating the fair. Ever since, it has helped business and encouraged trade among the people of the district, who would seize the opportunity to stock up their supplies and even to sell the products they made. All kinds of agricultural, ranching, forestry and gardening products and equipment can be found at the fair, plus the local and regional home-made culinary produce deriving from these: nougats, sweets, wines, cheeses, sausages, pickles, hams, salted meat and fish, etc. The fair also includes cars, real estate services, insurance companies, new technologies, renewable energies, toys, clothing, decoration, jewellery, and more. Two shows are also rapidly becoming traditional fixtures at the San Andrés Fair: the Livestock Show (since 2003) and the Bonsai Show (since 1999).
