The Region of Valencia boasts an absolutely stunning landscape, from the coastline peppered with paradise beaches to the inland defined by rugged mountains and dense woodland. Wherever you go, you will come across unexpected areas of natural beauty.

The hiking routes that snake through the region will immerse you in the secrets of the land. If you find it difficult to choose between the sea or the mountains, the trail from Culla to Benicarló is for you. On one side, you will see the mountainous inland sprinkled with pretty country houses while on the other, you can gaze at the interplay of light hitting a coastline of winding and hidden beaches. And if that weren’t enough natural diversity for you, you will discover villages sitting between the inland and the coast, plains, river terraces and dry farming fields among the olive and almond groves. Simply beautiful.

If you’ve got kids and want them to live a fantastic adventure, you can’t go wrong with the Camins de Dinosaures. The tour will take you on an exploration of the Region of Valencia by discovering its vast and varied palaeontological heritage. In Museo de Alpuente you will discover sauropods from the Late Jurassic period and at the Site of Cultural Interest in Corcolilla you will see the footprints of the carnivorous dinosaurs that lived with them. And at Museo de Morella, you will find out everything you wanted to know about the first dinosaur to roam the province of Castellón, the morelladon. Fun for all the family.

Hiking lovers and thrill seekers: this one is for you. The route from Vistabella del Maestrat to Vila-real will transport you from the heights of Penyagolosa to the shores of the sea. The trail will take you through the valleys and river banks that are home to one of the most primitive natural ecosystems. Starting in Atzeneta del Maestrat, you will climb up and up to the highest village in the Region of Valencia, Vistabella del Maestrat, before continuing through the Penyagolosa mountainscape, where you will discover some beautiful places, such as Sant Joan de Penyagolosa sanctuary.

If you prefer to explore the landscape on two wheels, you can also take a cycling tour along the Costa Blanca. The perfect way to see some of the most beautiful coves along the coast, explore Altea and fall head over heels in love with the seascape. As you pedal along the routes with your friends, family or loved one, you will discover the most stunning parts of the Alicante coastline. If the mountains are more your thing, you will love this route up Sierra de Bernia. Treated to incredible views along the way, the route will take you deep into the mountain with Forat de Bernia, a natural tunnel that goes through the crest of the mountain. A pure spectacle of nature.

If you love history, you’re going to adore the Region of Valencia: wherever you go, there is a long and fascinating past just waiting to be explored. For example, you can take a tour of Riba-roja de Túria’s castle and museums, which will tell you everything there is to know about this 11th century fortress (which has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest). You will also visit Museo Visigodo de Pla de Nadal, Museo de Cerámica del Castillo and Espai d’Art Comtemporani.

There are also a large number of different mountain biking trails, which will take you deep into the inland as well as along the coastline.
