Come to Caudiel in June to gorge on cherries and local dishes as well as marvel at artisanal products and traditional performances. Don’t miss Fiesta de la Cereza.

Feria de la Cereza, also known as Fiesta de la Cereza en Caudiel, has been held in the province of Castellón for 25 years. Celebrating cherries, the event is defined by a number of local traditions such as La Caldera, a charity lunch in which olla (a stew made with chickpeas, rice, pork bones, morcilla, saffron and other hearty ingredients) was served.

Historically, stalls were set up in Plaza de Caudiel and all sorts of dances and other traditional performances took place. When the festival was listed an Event of Provincial Tourist Interest in 2017, Feria de la Cereza expanded its gaze to the delicious local cuisine, artisanship, traditional products and traditional dishes.

Cherries, as you might imagine, are the focus of the festivities, though olla certainly gives the fruit a run for its money with some three thousand portions served during the event.

The cherry festival is the perfect opportunity to spend time in Caudiel, a pretty town with great heritage sites such as Torre del Molino and San Juan Bautista parish church and La Virgen del Niño Perdido shrine. Start planning your trip to the festival today.
