A plan and a half in Castellón: ˝Festival de Montaña de la Tinença˝ in Benifassà
From 7 to 9 of June, mountain lovers will have their perfect festival. The Tinença of Benifassà is the best way to enjoy the natural environment in Castellón, one of the most mountainous provinces of Spain.
Routes on horseback, initiation to climbing, climbing walls, zip line... Visit the cave paintings of the “Cova dels Rossegadors”, watch the display of falconry, get on a kayak trip to the Ulldecona reservoir and much more!
This second edition of the Tinença of Benifassà Mountain Festival includes three days of multiple activities aimed at all audiences with a premise: the love for the mountain.
Here you are, the programme in advance: on Saturday, June 8, at 10 am, you can join a hike to Mas de n’Insa or a trail-running to El Portell de l’Infern and Salt de Robert. At 4 pm starts the visit to the Iberian settlement El Ballestar, a jewel of archaeological and historical heritage. Besides, the archaeological site of La Morranda will allow us to get up close to our ancestors the Iberians. Finish the day by joining the big dinner and later dance. There is no better plan.
Following the schedule, on Sunday, June 9, many of the mountain activities are repeated, and some others are added like La Tinença maquis route, a theatrical historical re-enactment of the Civil War era and others that you will have to discover yourself. Also, during the whole weekend, you have the opportunity to sign up for the Orientation Circuit in Boixar.
The Tinença de Benifassà Natural Park, between the areas of Els Ports and El Baix Maestrat, is a mountainous area of high ecological value. Delve into extraordinarily preserved landscapes and reconnect with nature.
