Events in Benidorm: what’s on in 2021
Benidorm is known for its music, performances and parties. Discover what’s on the cards for the summer of 2021.
Benidorm is a town of high rises, of beach holidays, but also of music, culture and art. Living up to its reputation as a town that never sleeps, Benidorm is hosting all sorts of events and activities in 2021 so you can make your getaway one to remember. Keep reading to discover what’s on this summer.
The year 2021 also promises plenty of music. Singer Alejandro Sanz will perform in the town on the 14 July. Forced to push back his tour, the singer will delight the audience with his latest concert in Estadio Municipal Guillermo Amor.
To kick things off, the exhibition La mirada del otro. El retrato contemporáneo en la pintura alicantina (The glance of the other. Contemporary portraiture in Alicante painting) is scheduled in Benidorm. On display in Museu Boca del Calvari until the 15 March, the exhibition features the works of eight artists from the south of the Region of Valencia, namely Rosalía Banent, Ormar Arráez, Víctor Cámara and others. The portraits combine movement, abstraction and artistic skill to make you ponder the gazes of others.
And that’s not all. On the 18 July, Pastora Soler is bringing her tour, Sentir, to Benidorm. The Seville-based artist will take to the stage to do what she does best: sing the music and emotions she holds within. A performance that is imbued with sentiment and feeling.
A couple of festivals are also on the cards (to be confirmed, depending on COVID-19 measures). Reggaeton Beach Festival and Low Festival offer long days filled with music, dancing and fun thanks to performances by big national and international names. Low Festival is expected to be held on the 30 and 31 July and the 1 August in Guillermo Amor stadium while Reggaeton Beach Festival is planned for the 10 and 11 July. Not to be missed.
It is said that music takes us back to the best moments in the past; Benidorm has therefore put together a special programme paying homage to the clubbing and rave scene. On the 14 August, La Ruta de los 90 will feature the best tunes from the 1990s, taking you back to a great period for music with classics by DJ Arturo Roger and Kike Jaén, among others.
If rock is more your thing, Visor Fest is planned for the 17 and 18 September. An opportunity to see international bands from the 1980s and 1990s perform live. If any of these events have captured your interest, make sure you check out the cultural programme in Benidorm to make sure you don’t miss anything.
And last but by no means least, Benidorm Pride is back in 2021 in an explosion of rainbow colours that celebrates diversity, inclusion and love.
