In this post, we will give you a snapshot of the experiences you can discover in our events calendar. A guide that will hold your hand throughout the bank holiday weekend that falls just as the weather is turning that little bit more crisp. Shall we get going?
Long December weekend in the province of Alicante
If you’re not sure what to do during the upcoming bank holiday in the province of Alicante, why not go to a place that will indulge your sweet tooth? Villajoyosa has an archaeological museum where you can learn about the network of watchtowers that once lined the coast, before heading to the chocolate museum with its delicious chocolatey treats. Another option is to go to Pedreguer where you can play an escape game in beautiful Jardín del Albardá.
If you’re keen to spend most of the December bank holiday in the great outdoors, why not go hiking in Font Roja in Alcoy? And if you love immersing yourself in local traditions, you could always take a guided tour of Museu del Fang in Agost to discover the world of Valencian pottery.
The Benidorm Chess Open is taking place from the 4 to the 12 December in the popular seaside town, offering you an opportunity to see great players in action. Also on the 12, and in the same town, is The Magic of Motown, a live music performance that you won’t want to miss. Our final recommendation is in Ontinyent where you can explore the air-raid shelters as part of the town’s guided tour programme.
Long December weekend in the province of Castellón
The long December weekend 2021 is the perfect time to visit Almedíjar to take a walk through its beautiful scenery on a discovery of its forgotten plants. In Villahermosa del Río, you can also take a walk, this time to a sparkling waterfall along the river Carbó, while in Morella you can sign your little ones up to a beginners rock climbing course. From the 6 to the 8 December, Segorbe will come to life thanks to the festivities as part of Feria de la Purísima and on the 7 Cabanes is running an excellent hiking tour starting in the town centre.
Last but by no means least, you can enjoy a lovely experience that pairs the wonder of birding with the delight of wine tasting in Torreblanca and Cabanes.
Long December weekend in the province of Valencia
And what about the province of Valencia? The list of possibilities is endless, but to pique your interest we’re going to recommend an adventure day in Picassent where you can enjoy the zipline, archery and Tibetan bridges. Then there is the lovely walk through the traditional country houses and lavender fields in Ademuz where you can learn about the cultivation of aromatic plants. And on the 8 December, you can take a tour of a surprise winery in Utiel-Requena.
If you love the culture surrounding food, you could take a tour around Andilla to explore the village’s olive oil, truffles and almonds. And to round off this non-exhaustive list, in El Puig de Santa María you could go on the hunt for James I’s lost sword with an entertaining living history tour. So what are you waiting for? Find out what’s on in our events calendar and make this long December weekend one to remember in the Region of Valencia.
