Petrer se viste de luna: living history tours in the moonlight

Delve into Petrer’s past with a living history tour that takes place in the moonlight. The perfect activity for all the family
“Petrer se viste de luna” is an excellent living history tour that will take you on a journey into Petrer’s history. Held on Saturdays closest to the full moon, the event takes place in the town’s historic centre in the moonlight.
On the tour you will bump into historic characters who will reveal all the secrets of the town. Lasting an hour and a half, the event seeks to both educate and entertain.
If you would like to join one of the “Petrer se viste de luna” tours, please be aware that you must reserve in advance. The dates for 2023, following the lunar calendar, are: 7 January, 4 February, 4 March, 1 April, 6 May, 3 June, 1 July, 26 August, 30 September, 28 October, 25 November and 23 December.
The guides-cum-actors will tell you what life was like in Petrer, known as Villa Petraria, no less than 1700 years ago. You will meet people including local farmers, Romans, prisoners and even a ghost or two. The tour will transport you back to the Roman period where you can witness the Christian Conquest and see what life was like for the Moors following the event.
You will also see how locals used to live in the early 20th century in the fantastic cave houses. So how about it?
