The deep feeling of the Holy Week flows throughout the entire Region of Valencia and we want to make you part of this heartfelt celebration. From the celebrations of Semana Santa Marinera de València to the impressive images in Orihuela, Elche and Crevillente, in the province of Alicante, passing through the "Rompida de la hora" in Alcora, in Castellón.
Throughout theRegion of Valencia, there are several places recognized for hosting a very moving Holy Week, with impressive processional images, multitudinous blessings of palms and even a gastronomy adapted to Lent.We will show you some of the most outstanding places for you to choose where you are going to enjoyEasterthis year.
Declared of National Tourist Interest, the Semana Santa Marinera comes to Los Poblados Marítimos to impregnate of tradition and fervor the neighborhoods ofCabanyal,Canyameral and Vale Grao València.From 11 to 21 April, biblical characters, Roman soldiers,Christs and Nazarenes will parade on the streets to vibrate with the audience. The program, full of different acts distributed among the different parishes, has three outstanding events that unite all the groups.These are the Visit to the Holy Monuments of Holy Thursday, the General Procession of the Holy Burial on the evening of Holy Friday and, finally, the Procession of the Desfile de Resurrection, on Sunday 21 April.
Alicante also gathers internationally renowned celebrations.Crevillent and Elche are two perfect examples, as the passion raised by their processions has been declared of International Tourist Interest.The fervor will once again be present at the Pascua in Elche with its "Trencà del Guió", the most traditional and singular ceremony, which represents the vassalage of the city of Elche to the Virgin on Good Friday evening.In the case ofCrevillent, in addition to all the images that make it well-known, thousands of visitors can also enjoy the IX Gastronomic Days in Lent, which will take place on Fridays between March 8 and April 12 in different restaurants of the municipality.
In the province of Castellón, the "Trencàdel'hora" in l'Alcora, also declared of Regional Tourist Interest, makes the town reverberate with more than 1,000 drums and bass drums coming from different points of the province, as a way to express the agony and death of Jesus.
Sagunto, Orihuela, Alzira and Gandia and many other municipalities in theRegion of Valencia share this same devotion for Holy Week.Where will you live it?
