Now this is a programme of events that you won’t want to miss. Running until the end of 2022, the guided tours taking place in Quatretonda will take you on a complete exploration of Vall d’Albaida. The events revolve around the village’s naturescapes, heritage and history, showcasing a new side of the destination month after month.
Scheduled for the 3 April, the tour entitled El techo del término de Quatretonda will take you up the highest peak in the municipality - Alto de la Hedra, to the east of Sierra de Quatretonda - so that you can breathe in the spectacular views. Don’t forget to bring something to eat with you to refuel. On the 15 May, the programme changes gear with a workshop that will teach you how to dance and play postizas, small castanets. The opportunity you’ve been looking for to delve into local customs.
In June, the programme returns to the fresh air with a guided hike along Cucons de Senet, a trail that will envelop you in all sorts of varieties of aromatic and medicinal plants that were used for various purposes in the past. The monthly get-together in August takes place at night so you can marvel at the Perseids, a beautiful meteor shower, from Pla dels Engolidors. You’ll be blown away by the magic of the spectacle.
In September, Quatretonda’s programme of guided tours will take you to the outskirts of the municipality to Umbria de Torrella, which rubs shoulders with the neighbouring village of Benigànim. In October you will come across all sorts of mysteries and discover hideouts, legends and stories related to historic ambushes and the role of herbolarios, herb specialists who have boundless knowledge about all the plant species growing in and around Quatretonda. Later on in the month, you can explore the Gran Recorrido de los Monasterios in the Pla dels Arenals area.
And to round up the year, in November you can find out more about the different mushroom varieties that sprinkle the landscapes of Quatretonda and in December you can climb up to Buscarró along Camino de les Foietes so you can enjoy some spectacular views.
