Cala La Granadella - Xàbia (Alicante)
Perhaps one of the most famous coves to practice snorkelling in the Region of Valencia is the cove la Granadella located in Xàbia. You can access the cove easily in your own vehicle, for this reason during the summer months you will find many people there. La Granadella cove has a small beach 160 meters long and its beautiful crystal clear waters make it a perfect place for snorkelling. The cove is reached through an abrupt road starting from the road of Cabo de la Nao.
Cala Barraca or Portitxol, Xàbia (Alicante)
If you are looking for a cove with waters that remain almost always calm, your perfect cove is the Cala Barraca or Portitxol, another jewel of Xàbia, located just opposite the island of Portitxol. It is a cove full of rock formations; it is an ideal place to go snorkelling. It has a beach of almost 1 kilometre in length and it is not very crowded even in high season. It can be easily reached by road from the Cabo de la Nao or within walking distance from the Mirador de la Cruz del Portitxol.
Cala Racó, Calp (Alicante)
Another beautiful cove in the province of Alicante is the Cala Racó located in Calp, just below the Peñón de Ifach, one of the most emblematic places on the Costa Blanca. The clear water of this cove is really special, perfect for snorkelling with many fish. It is very easy to get to this cove, going along the N-332 road you will simply have to take the Calp-Norte exit towards Peñón de Ifach Natural Park. It is a small and quite popular cove, therefore it is recommended to arrive early to find parking.
Cala del Moraig, Benitatxell (Alicante)
A beautiful rocky beach that lies between the beaches of Portitxol and Benitatxell. It is a rocky beach, but the seabed is sandy. The most outstanding place is the Cueva de los Arcos, which hides an underground river of fresh water. Both the cliff area and the cave are great places to go snorkelling or diving.
Cala de La Foradada, Vinaròs (Castellón)
The Cove of La Foradada in Vinaròs is one of the most charming coves in Castellón. A pierced rock that emerges from the sea gives the name to this cove. The crystal clear waters around this rock hide many wonders that you only have to discover. You get to the cove by the N-340 road where you will also find other highly recommended coves.
Cala Pebret, Peñíscola (Castellón)
One of the most quiet and beautiful coves of the province of Castellón is the Pebret cove, a cove of 280 meters in length, located 8 km from the Port of Peñíscola. It is one of the less urbanized sections of the coast in the Region of Valencia. Being on this sandy beach will give you a feeling of isolated living. Although the beach is fine sand, the coastline is rocky and shallow, which makes Cala Pebret an ideal place to practice snorkelling. The cove is easily accessible, an ideal stop also on a bike tour.
