Discover Bocairent on foot and explore streets bursting with culture, history and art whichever way you look.

During your visit to Bocairent, you simply have to visit the village’s historic centre. Brimming with history and culture, the beautiful streets are arranged in a unique pattern, a vestige of its Arab past. Steep (wear comfortable shoes!) alleys dotted with fountains and colourful flower beds will lead you to the three chapels: ermita de Sant Joan, ermita de la Mare de Déu dels Desemparats and ermita de la Mare de Déu d’Agost.

Once you reach the highest part of the historic centre, you’ll discover the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and its museum, displaying items revealing Bocairent’s long past.

There is another route, known as the magical trail, that will take you outside the historic village walls on a discovery of the houses clinging to the rockface.

Bocairent has plenty of treasures for you to discover. Its unique mountain location has meant different civilisations chose to settle here over the course of history. Settlements from the Neolithic age have been found in Vinalopó caves, as well as traces of Iberian and Roman populations.

Come to Bocairent to walk its historic streets and breathe in its culture, art and long history.
