Connect with Carcaixent’s past at Fira Modernista.

Carcaixent’s history is inextricably linked to the production and commercialisation of oranges. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the town earned itself a great reputation in Spain and abroad for its cultivation of the citrus fruit, prompting a golden age that has left its mark in beautiful buildings flaunting the artistic style of the time: Modernism.

Wherever you look in Carcaixent, you will see nods to the movement: from the town planning and houses to the agricultural land and warehouses. Since 2016, Fira Modernista has celebrated the town’s natural and cultural heritage through events, guided tours, exhibitions, clothing contests, car shows, processions and conferences.
