The Fallas of Cullera, which are declared a Festival of Local Tourist Interest, are held every year from 16th to 19th March. On 16th March all the Fallas monuments lay in the streets of Cullera. The city dawns on 17th March with the "despertà", hundreds of fireworks that ring in the ears to start the first day of the festivities.
The whole city goes out into the streets to celebrate Fallas intensely. Some of the highlighted acts include: parades, the awards ceremony, the flower offering to the Virgen del Castillo and the "Nit del Foc", in which a huge firework is set off.
On the night of 19th March, the traditional "cremà" is held. All the monuments of the city burn in flames and only one figure is saved from the flames each year.
