Feast of the Virgin of the Carmen

Main image

Every 16th July the fisherman's brotherhood of Cullera celebrates its feasts in honour of its patron saint, the Virgen del Carmen. The day is marked by the procession of the image of the Virgin from the headquarters of the brotherhood to the church of San Francisco where a mass is held in her honour. After the mass, the image is taken by boat to the sea where an offering of flowers is made by all the fishermen.
