The Holy Week in the town of Lliria has been celebrated since the Middle Ages (fifteen century). The events are organized by the Brotherhoods of the Blood, of the Sorrows, of the Jesus Prayer in the Garden, and of the Holy Grail. The Brotherhood of the Blood has its origins in the sixteenth century and is one of the oldest in the Valencia Region. Good Friday, Palm Sunday, and Holy Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are the days when the celebrations take place. Among the effigies, the sculpture of Christ of the Brotherhood of the Blood, whose head dates back to the seventeenth century, is the most important one.
