This guided walking tour through the heart of València takes you to discover the identity of the city through its culture, architecture, local commerce and traditions.

It's two hours to let yourself go, pay attention to the guide and admire the wonders of the historic centre of València, from the Lonja de la Seda -World Heritage Site- to the small squares of the historic centre, full of shops with local crafts and fashion.

This is what the activity includes:

  • 2-hour guided walking tour through the centre of Valencia, on a route that starts at the tourist office in the Town Hall Square and ends at the Plaza de la Virgen, always under the attentive explanations of the guide.
  • Entrance to the Silk Exchange.
  • Official guide in Spanish and English.
  • Accessible for people with reduced mobility.
  • A tour through the history and personality of the city, including: Town Hall Square, Central Market, Lonja de la Seda, Doctor Collado Square, Plaza del Doctor Collado, Plaza Redonda, Plaza Lope de Vega, Santa Catalina Church, Tapinería Market, Plaza de la Reina, Plaza de la Almoina, Plaza de la Virgen.

From start to finish, the guide makes sure to take you back to the golden age in each of the streets, squares or monuments; to explain why it is important and what it represents for the city. Like in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, for example, the starting point, where you will understand what the Fallas represent for the Valencians.

Its modernist architecture leads you through charming historic streets to the magnificent Central Market, one of the jewels of the city, the nerve centre of local gastronomy. A few metres away is the Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange), a World Heritage Site, whose unique architecture you will discover by strolling through its interior before coming out onto the Plaza del Doctor Collado.

From there, colourful alleyways, small squares where time seems to stand still and small local shops, resistance in a world that is becoming less and less authentic. The vintage fashion of the Tapinería Market or the ceramics made with local techniques -ocarrat or trencadís- of the Plaza Redonda are the living image that València has history, personality and a lot to say to whoever is willing to listen.
