The history of Xátiva walks hand in hand with the evolution of its current historical centre, which developed in the 10th century and had its boundaries set by means of a wall in the XI century. Visitors exploring its central streets will find a network of alleys and narrow streets that give a captivating aspect to the enclosure. For example, Corretgería street leads down to the ‘plaza del Mercado’, which is a beautiful square. Another place of interest is Montcada street, where the buildings are decorated with coats of arms known as "Blasones”.
