The city streets are filled with color and diversity. You can see small children parading, schools that surprise us every year with their imagination; individual contestants and small groups, and of course, the troupes, large and small, that go with a costume that each year surpasses the previous one, troupes that come out with fantasy and dazzling feathers or with impossible structures full of details that manage to amaze the public. But the carnival is not only costumes and parades, a wide range of activities complete the program: the popular carnival murgas in which the groups sing with irony, showing their criticism in the text of the songs; the National Competition of Comparsas and Chirigotas, the Drag Queen gala and the carnival theater in which through humor a scathing criticism is made of the daily life of the city.
