The Light of Saint Nicholas, in València, is an authentic sensory experience that takes you back in time through a magnificent temple’s history. You really must see it!
The Light of Saint Nicholas is the first permanent immersive experience in an active temple in the Region of Valencia. The Church of San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir, located on the beautiful Calle Caballeros, is one of the most visited monuments in Valencia. An example of Baroque architecture, it is now also a stage where light takes centre stage, bringing the frescoes on its vaulted ceiling to life. We'll tell you everything that's included in the tour!
The Light of Saint Nicholas: An Immersive Experience
The Light of Saint Nicholas enhances the beauty of the frescoes in the Church of San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir. Through a delicate and astonishing high-tech display, it allows you to rediscover its ancient heritage in a multisensory, contemporary experience.
The Light of Saint Nicholas includes three propositions. The first is a videomapping projection accentuating the beauty of the church’s Baroque frescoes. This is activated on the hour and lasts about 20 minutes. The second option is the Heartbeat of Saint Nicholas, which allows you to learn about the parish’s history via interactive totems using original animations.
Finally, viewing the spectacular stained-glass window Lux ex Oriente, inspired by the figure of Saint Nicholas, you will experience sensations that invite introspection.
The Light of Saint Nicholas is an accessible attraction, while the church provides an audio guide in Spanish, Valencian, English, French and Italian along with your ticket. Educational tours and private tours are also available.
This can be a great plan to enjoy with the family, as the church has audio guides for children too. If you also plan to visit the Light of Saint Nicholas show in May or June, you could also attend the International Organ Festival (FIDO). Come and surround yourself with 447,120 million light sources projected onto a church of inestimable beauty. Don't miss The Light of Saint Nicholas!
