Come along and take part in the activities at the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, the City of Arts and Sciences, in the lead-up to the total solar eclipse on 12 August. During the eclipse, València is set to become a key spot for astrotourism.
The eclipse at the City of Arts and Sciences

Premiere at the Hemisfèric (28 April): step into the film “Eclipse. El momento de la totalidad”, a visual journey using real images and fulldome technology to explore the movement between the Sun and the Moon. The session also includes the short film The Incredible Sun, which offers a closer look at our star’s activity.

European Space Agency talk (28 April): astronomer Pedro García Lario will be at the Hemisfèric to explain the rare sequence of eclipses that Spain will experience between 2026 and 2028.

Solar observation with telescopes (21 July): one of the most anticipated activities, this free event takes place in the Umbracle’s Astronomy Garden. You’ll be able to observe the Sun safely with expert guidance, getting a sense of the scale of what’s to come in August.
