Acto del Desembarco de Santa María Magdalena, Arrival of Santa María Magdalena, is a unique tradition in Moncofa, renowned as the oldest maritime procession in the Region of Valencia.

According to legend, while Alonso V was returning from Naples to València, his ship was caught in a heavy storm, forcing him to seek refuge in Moncofa as an alternative destination. Carrying with him the figure of Santa María Magdalena, the annual tradition of the beloved saint’s arrival to the shores of Moncofa was born, forming a magical event worth seeing firsthand.
