Things to do with kids in the Region of Valencia: the museums with the most fun
In Castellón, we’d point you straight to Molí de l’Oli in Cervera del Maestre—a wonderfully hands-on visit where little (and not-so-little) explorers can see what an old olive mill looks like from the inside and how it actually worked. Over in Morella, the Museus de Morella exhibitions include the brilliant Time of Dinosaurs—just the thing for uncovering the secrets of the mighty Iguanodon!
And to round off Castellón in style, the Planetari in Castelló de la Plana brings you face to face with the marine world of the Columbretes Islands and invites you to get stuck into science too—a cracking spot for a family outing.
No list of children’s museums in València would be complete without the Museu de les Ciències, where you’re actively encouraged to touch, try and tinker with everything. The journey through knowledge is genuinely amazing. Not far away you’ll find the Museo Fallero, home to spectacular creations shaped by the incredible artistry behind Las Fallas. Then head into the old town to visit L’Iber, which houses one of the world’s largest collections of miniature lead soldiers and historical figures—it’s a proper treasure trove.
To wrap up our tour of family-friendly museums in the Region of Valencia, we’re off to Alicante. Start with the Doll Museum in Onil and the Toy Museum in Ibi—both full of charm and nostalgia. Then in Torrevieja, a real-life submarine turned museum lets little ones daydream about undersea adventures.
And for the perfect grand finale, we’ll take you to Jijona’s Turrón Museum, where you can discover how the true star of Christmas is made. Delicious? Absolutely.
