How about planning your next hiking trip in Cullera. Make a note of these nature trails!

Come and discover some stunning nature trails in Cullera, Valencia. These trails will take you through vastly contrasting landscapes, all cooled by sea breezes off the nearby Mediterranean. Get your hiking boots out for some amazing hiking activities!

Cullera Routes: Trails Through Rice Fields

Our routes in Cullera are trips of discovery that will have you exploring, among other things, marshy landscapes amongst the rice fields. Trails are signposted and easy to find. The first will take you through the northern area, discovering small hermitages such as Santos Abdón y Senén, offering you a spectacular view. This first nature trail in Cullera starts at the chapel and leads you along the Faro road on an easy 11-km circular route.

Another option is to explore the southern part of the marshland on an easy walking or cycling route through the rice fields. We recommend bringing binoculars if you want to see lots of different bird species! This route is also circular and is about 10.7 km long.

Cullera Mountain Route

The next of our nature trails in Cullera takes you up to its fantastic castle. The Torre de la Reina Mora (Moorish Queen's Tower) is the starting point for a 1-km-long, moderately difficult route.

Along this route, you can admire all the restored towers of a fortress built between the 11th and 13th centuries. The castle offers fabulous panoramic views of the sea, the orange groves and rice fields, as well as the stunning landscape of the Júcar River mouth. Towards the end of theis route, you’ll also get some great photo opps along the 18th-century Stations of the Cross.

Other Cullera Routes

Our list of nature trails in Cullera continues with the PR-CV 336 or La Lloma trail. This leads you into Albufera Natural Park, where you can see the dunes of Dosel Beach. It is an easy 14-km route starting at Cullera Cemetery.

Another option is to walk a route from the mouth of the Júcar River, along the southern beaches and the Estany Lake. This route starts at the Júcar River and takes you to the Marenyet - L'Illa beach on a journey of about 9 km.

The Estany Lake Trail is really peaceful and can be done by bike or on foot. It is 3.5 km long and you are sure to see amazing species of birds flying overhead along the way.

The last of the nature trails in Cullera we have for you is the Paisaje Cultural del Júcar, a cycling route that links Cullera and Sueca. The route is just under 8 km long and is easy to follow, ending at the mouth of the Júcar River and showing you all the life that has grown up along the river. Pick your first route and get going! Now you have everything you need to enjoy it!
