What to see in Benicolet

Benicolet centre is small with low-lying traditional houses and quiet streets. Wander around until you come across 16th century San Juan Bautista Parish Church, which is well worth stopping to admire. And if you’re lucky, you might be able to see a game of pilota valenciana being played on En Mig street

Once you’ve visited the centre, it’s time to venture a little further afield in search of more things to do in Benicolet. You’re going to love wandering through the orange groves and exploring different examples of hydraulic infrastructure, which are used to irrigate the land. You’ll come across a number of weirs, namely Blai, Font del Tap, La Penya, El Nou and Borrasca.

You will also have the opportunity to photograph aqueducts like Arcadeta de la Sèquia Nova, drinking troughs, pools and more. You’re going to want to reach the area surrounding the fountain called Font Vella. It used to be an old public washhouse and the fountain which provided water to the local houses. It’s a lovely place where you can make fires and enjoy a feast at the picnic tables
