The inhabitants of Tavernes follow precisely the folk traditions of the magical night of San Juan. Thus, the festival starts with a 'correfoc', a firework show on the beaches of the municipality. Later on, dozens of bonfires are lit on the sand. People surround or jump over them as they make a wish. To complete the ritual, participants on the night of San Juan's wet their feet in the sea water from midnight on.
