The Iglesia Parroquial de San Pedro Apóstol de Agost, or the Parish Church of San Pedro Apóstol in Agost, took shape through a series of architectural changes carried out between the mid-16th century and the late 18th century, when it acquired the appearance it has today.

Things to see inside the Parish Church of San Pedro Apóstol in Agost

The church has two notable entrances: the 17th-century Virgen doorway and the San Pedro doorway, which was added in the 18th century. Outside, the slender bell tower houses a set of bells cast in 1791. Inside, don't miss the high-relief figures of the Evangelists in the transept or the richly decorated Communion Chapel. Built between 1731 and 1735, the chapel is considered to be one of the finest examples of Alicante Baroque.
