HOGUERAS Y BARRACAS

The weekend following July 16th, the major days of Hogueras and Barracas are celebrated, which were declared Provincial Tourist Interest Festivals in 2013

The Hogueras are the main focus of the festivities, responsible for showcasing art, satire, and emotion Currently, there are 10 hogueras and about twenty existing barracas, each with their own Beauties and Ladies of Honor, the highest representatives of these celebrations in any kind of event

During these days, highlights include the Opening Speech from the Town Hall balcony and the Ninot parade, a colorful and vibrant costume procession with the theme of hogueras and barraca entrances The solemnity of the procession and offering to the Virgin of Carmen, patroness of the Hogueras and Barracas of San Vicente, fills the streets Finally, the General Parade takes place, where the committees proudly display their finest attire alongside their music bands.

The adorned streets are one of the oldest and most beautiful customs of the municipality It consists of decorating and ornamenting those streets and places where the residents of San Vicente gather, dine, and have fun It involves months of work for the design, creation, and installation of decorations, and requires the involvement of a large part of the population

The essential element of these festivities is undoubtedly fireworks San Vicente del Raspeig comes alive with a magnificent display of fireworks, where the thunderous symphony of rockets combines with the visual spectacle that only this type of pyrotechnic event can produce

The climax is reached on Sunday night during the Cremà (burning) It is the moment when cardboard, stone, or wooden monuments are set on fire, marking the end of the celebration
