Don't miss these colourful festivities in which marching bands take to the streets.

Las Fiestas Patronales y de Moros y Cristianos, the Patron Saint and Moors and Christians festivals of San Vicente del Raspeig, in Alicante, combine tradition, colour and music.

They begin on Friday with the opening speech and the entrance of the marching bands. Then on Saturday come the entrance of the Christians, and the Moorish embassy, symbolising the failed surrender of the castle. Sunday highlights are the children's entrance and the Moorish entrance, while on Monday, tribute is paid to San Vicente, while the Kábilas of the festival officials are visited.

Tuesday culminates with the Christian embassy, the final battle and the charanga, a costume parade that closes the festivities. More than 3,000 festival-goers and 3,500 musicians take part in these unique celebrations that combine the Patron Saint, and the Moors and Christians festivities in San Vicente del Raspeig. Enjoy this experience bursting with history and colour!
