Since 1978, the Torreblanca theatrical tradition, dating back to early twentieth century, has focused on the celebration of the Passion of Christ. The performance begins on Maundy Thursday in several natural outdoor settings, the dialogues being entirely recited in the local dialect, 'torreblanquí'. The play takes place in seventeen scenes and takes approximately two hours. The highlight of the ceremony comes when the viewer is involved between the actors and the plot, and is a witness, firsthand, of the last hours of Christ's life.
