Amid the black and red pines, small-leaved linden and beech trees live some incredible creatures, such as Iberian ibex, wild boar, vultures, Bonelli’s eagles and booted eagles. As you wander the many hiking routes criss-crossing the landscape you might just be lucky enough to spot these animals. Stop in your tracks to watch them go about their daily business and breathe in the silence of the mountain. 

It is said that La Tinença de Benifassà is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Region of Valencia. You can experience this natural beauty in whichever way you fancy. And on your exploration, you may just end up at Pantano de Ulldecona, a reservoir on the Catalonia border where you can go swimming or enjoy activities such as kayaking and canoeing. 

If you’re an adventurer at heart, La Tinença de Benifassà promises long days out in the great outdoors. The sunsets from here are absolutely spectacular. 

Activities such as hunting, fishing and mushrooming are permitted in the natural park (within the legal requirements). The best places to get a bite to eat are the beautiful inland villages where you can indulge in traditional dishes such as hearty stews made with wild boar and pork, caramelised mushrooms and dishes adorned with truffle shavings.
