Holy Week in Alzira is a Festival of National Tourist Interest. Are you ready to experience the town’s Easter celebrations this year? Make your way to Alzira on the 24 March to see the gathering of the devoted ones and brotherhoods in Plaza Primero de Mayo. And don’t miss the Blessing and Palm Procession with the reenactment of the Arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem on the same day. On the 25 March, the clavarios come together in time for the Traslado de la Santa Cruz by the Brotherhoods and Fraternities, which sees the statue of Jesus Christ transported. And on the 27, it’s the turn of the doseles, in which locals recreate the scenes of the Passion. On the 29, the Procession of the Holy Burial takes to the streets, and on the 30, spirits lift for the Resurrection Meeting at the Plaza Mayor.
