See the footprints of dinosaurs that roamed our destination millions of years ago.

The municipality of Millares is home to El Tambuc Ichnite Site, which is the most important site of its kind in the Region of Valencia, both in terms of the number of ichnites it holds and their good state of conservation. Visit this incredible natural area and you will be whisked back millions of years in time.

Imagine inland province of Valencia as a great plain sitting next to the Mediterranean. This was in fact what our destination was like 80 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period. The dinosaur footprints found at Rambla del Tambuc, a rocky bed some 17km south of the centre of Millares, date to this period.

At the site you can see over 400 tridactyl footprints, 42 of which are ordered into 13 different trails. They are located in an area spanning 30,000m², divided into two sites (east and west). It has been listed a Site of Cultural Interest and is a great way to discover the fauna of the Cretaceous period.

El Tambuc ravine in Millares has been kitted out for visitors. There is a carpark where you can leave your vehicle and a number of information panels provide context to the experience. There are walkways and platforms that conserve the ichnites while giving you a close-up look at the collection of fossilised dinosaur footprints that, miraculously, have survived until present-day. You simply have to come and have a look.
